During the past 10 years, Dalian (a city in Northeast China's Liaoning Province) Women's Federation and several municipal government departments have worked together to provide assistance to women diagnosed with breast and/or cervical cancer through standard and targeted measures.
To date, 1,136 urban or rural women diagnosed with one or both of the "two cancers," and who were living on subsistence allowance, have received special-assistance funding.
To ensure in-need women receive services and/or financial assistance, a work mode — involving policy making, resource integration and policy implementation — has been formed.
Efforts have also been made to promote health-related information and disease prevention. More than 100,000 women have attended activities, including health lectures, training and free medical counselling. Contents, promoting "early screening, diagnosis and treatment," have been posted on social media.
