China Women's Development Foundation (CWDF) recently launched a training program, aimed at empowering women's vegetable planting through digital and intelligent technologies, in Zhangxian, a county in Northwest China's Gansu Province. Zhangxian Women's Federation organized the 15-day training program.
More than 80 farmers and women entrepreneurs were trained. The course had four modules — interpretation of agricultural policies, smart planting, whole-process-standard management and brand building of agricultural products. A team of 10 agricultural experts, from Shouguang, a city in East China's Shandong Province, gave lectures and guided trainees in using key technologies in a greenhouse.
The training provided an exchange platform, and helped women learn and use digital agricultural technologies.
The program was part of CWDF's Raise Her Business Plan. Under the plan, three programs have been implemented in Zhangxian, and they have formed a long-term empowerment chain for women's development.
