A training session, to improve the work of women's social organizations in North China's Shanxi Province, was held recently in Suzhou, a city in East China's Jiangsu Province.
Eighty people, from women's federations, at all levels, and outstanding women's social organizations in Shanxi, attended.
Lecturers conducted courses in various topics, including modernizing China's capacity for governance and the key elements for high-quality development of social organizations.
Based on practices and experiences in grassroots governance, professionals, from Suzhou, explained how to promote the integration of the work of women's social organizations and women's federations, and they talked about how social organizations have played their roles in mediating disputes.
Trainees also visited Suzhou Social Organization Integrated Innovation and Development Demonstration Park, the social work station of Shengpu Subdistrict, Taihuxue Silkworm Culture Park (one of Suzhou's women's employment and entrepreneurship practice bases) and some other places.
They gained firsthand experience in how social organizations have participated in grassroots governance, and how women's federations have promoted women's entrepreneurship.
