A seminar, focusing on the legal protection of women and children's rights and interests, was held recently in Wenzhou, a city in East China's Zhejiang Province. The purpose of the event was to promote implementation of the Regulation on Minors' Protection of Zhejiang Province and Wenzhou's Municipal Regulation on the Building of a Child-Friendly City.
More than 200 experts, scholars and relevant workers from universities, judicial departments and women's federations participated in discussions about the practices of and challenges in minors' protection in the new era.
The top 10 child-friendly service projects in Wenzhou and the 10 typical cases of minors' protection in Wenzhou were released.
Participants also visited the People's Court of Dongtou District, in Wenzhou, and Xiashe Village, in Dongtou, to learn about the court's efforts to protect women and children's rights and interests, and to see firsthand the work of grassroots communities in safeguarding children's healthy growth.
