[For Women of China]

To promote social harmony and stability, and to help residents improve their awareness of the importance of fighting domestic violence, Huaibei and Suixi women's federations on November 23 held an event to publicize information about the fight against domestic violence. The event was held in Linhuan, a town in Huaibei, a city in East China's Anhui Province. More than 30 people, including women residents of the town and cadres with Linhuan's women's federation, participated.

The federations invited lawyers with Angang Law Office (in Huaibei) to provide a lecture, to help cadres better understand how to help women and children prevent domestic violence, and how to help victims protect their legal rights and interests. The lawyers also explained the Civil Code of the People's Republic of China, which took effect on January 1, 2021. During the activity, some of the federations' cadres shared their experiences in helping residents mediate family disputes.

The activity was well received. Many participants said the event not only helped them increase their knowledge of the law, but also helped them improve their ability to help women and children protect their rights and interests.
