Lin Meets HKSAR's Secretary for Home and Youth Affairs Bureau Alice Mak

 

Lin Yi, Vice-President and Member of the Secretariat of the All-China Women's Federation (ACWF), met Alice Mak, Secretary for Home and Youth Affairs Bureau of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) Government, and her colleagues, in Beijing on July 19.

Lin outlined ACWF's major work and spoke highly of the positive measures the Home and Youth Affairs Bureau of the HKSAR Government has taken to address the need of women and women's organizations, and the efforts to advance women's all-round development in the HKSAR. Lin said the ACWF is willing to cooperate with the bureau to deepen work related to the building of families, family education and family virtues, to help women participate in social governance at the grass-roots level, and to safeguard women and children's rights and interests. The ACWF is also willing to build a platform to facilitate women's exchanges between the Chinese mainland and the HKSAR, to support the HKSAR to achieve common development and prosperity with the progress of the motherland, and to make efforts with the bureau to better tell China's stories on the international stage, Lin added.

Mak explained the bureau's work in delivering benefits to women and protecting women's rights and interests. She said the bureau will continue learning good practices from the ACWF, and deepen cooperation in women's rights protection, training for women officials and other areas, in order to help women contribute their efforts to advance the development of the motherland and the prosperity and stability of the HKSAR.
