An activity, which allowed participants to experience traditional Chinese culture, was held in China National Museum of Women and Children, in Beijing, on the afternoon of July 5. The event's theme was Children Painting the Beauty of East — Intangible Cultural Heritage Art Gathering.
Huang Xiaowei, Vice-President and First Member of the Secretariat of the All-China Women's Federation (ACWF), attended. Also in attendance were more than 80 people, from the families of foreign diplomats, including from Guyana, Cuba, Türkiye and other countries, and some Chinese families.
Huang had exchanges with the families. She noted Chinese President Xi Jinping has said he "hopes that young people of all countries could see the world with appreciation and in a spirit of sharing and mutual learning, promote exchanges and harmony among different cultures, and contribute to the building of a community with a shared future for humanity." Huang added she sincerely hopes families, from China and abroad, will maintain frequent interactions, have open and sincere conversations, enhance mutual understanding, foster genuine bonds of friendship, and promote mutual learning among civilizations.
Huang, with the participants, visited an exhibition of art works, created by children and themed Children's Brushstrokes for a Community with a Shared Future, to experience the beautiful vision of harmonious integration among civilizations, as seen through the children's eyes. They also immersed themselves in hands-on, intangible-cultural-heritage activities with Chinese characteristics, including painting round fans, molding clay and decorating kites, to appreciate the unique charm of traditional Chinese craftsmanship.
The children were full of enthusiasm, as they eagerly displayed their handmade creations and shared their creative insights amidst laughter and joy, creating a lively atmosphere. The international guests spoke highly of the special, parent-child activity organized by the ACWF. Some said, through the interactive exchanges, they enhanced mutual understanding and drew closer to one another. They also said they looked forward to more frequent exchanges in the future, to deepen their friendship and mutual understanding, and to build a global community of harmony and shared beauty.
Lin Yi, Vice-President and Member of the Secretariat of the ACWF, and Anyin Choo, Ambassador of Guyana to China, also attended.
