The event, hosted by the All-China Women's Federation (ACWF), was organized by Guangdong Women's Federation and the People's Government of Foshan City.
Chinese State Councilor Shen Yiqin, also President of the ACWF, attended and delivered a speech during the opening ceremony. In 2020, ACWF launched the Coordinated Development of Women in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area event, with the theme "Sisters Hand in Hand, Build a Wonderful Home in GBA." The event has since been held four times, in Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Zhuhai and Macao.
