The screening ceremony for a poverty alleviation short film named Dove Tree Blossoms was held at China Women's University (CWU) on October 16, 2020, in the run-up to the seventh National Poverty Alleviation Day. This short film was just awarded the only national special video category prize in an exhibition hosted by the State Council Leading Group Office of Poverty Alleviation and Development.

The film is based on the real story of a group of students who are above the average age of lower grades in remote areas of Mabian Yi Autonomous County, Southwest China's Sichuan Province. Under the help of poverty-eradication cadres, these girls from impoverished families broke through the shackles of traditional concepts, strived to catch up with peers and pursued their dreams.

The main characters in the film, who are students and a teacher from Tonghua School in Mabian Yi Autonomous County, Southwest China's Sichuan Province, visited the CWU on the same day. Liu Liqun, President of the CWU and Zhao Hao, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the CWU, participated in the ceremony and spoke with them.
