Women's federations at all levels nationwide have taken diversified measures to promote work resumption and women's employment in a safe and orderly manner during the prevention and control of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in urban and rural areas, trying their best to make contributions to the economic and social development as well as the COVID-19 prevention and control.

Responding to Needs Promptly

The Women's Federation of Huizhou City, in South China's Guangdong Province, has visited 575 enterprises in a high-tech industrial development zone to help them resume production and work in an orderly manner.

The Women's Federation of Sanjiao Town, Zhongshan City, in Guangdong, pays close attention to the policies and guidelines on work and production resumption, and guides women entrepreneurs to resume production according to the policies through WeChat groups, helping local companies find out and solve problems in a timely manner.

The Shanghai Women's Federation investigated difficulties of women entrepreneurs and women workers of social organizations during the epidemic prevention and control period, and reported their needs to the municipal government. The municipality's federation also launched live broadcast courses for small and medium-sized enterprises and provided online psychological classes for women employees, helping them relieve anxiety and pressure.

The women's federations of the villages in Gaoyang Township, Shunchang County, in Southeast China's Fujian Province, mobilized the locals to resume work, coordinated the supplies of agricultural materials, organized women volunteers and village-stationed officials to promote the knowledge of preventive measures when working on the farmland among the villagers, and guided women to protect themselves and start spring ploughing.

The Women's Federation of Jiujiang City, East China's Jiangxi Province, promptly publicized the government's policies to women entrepreneurs, helping them analyze the situation of the epidemic prevention and control, complete the procedures for resuming work and production, and perform their duties of the COVID-19 prevention and control. The federation also helped some enterprises solve their problems of labor shortage and the transportation of raw materials.

Coordinating Financial Support

Women's federations of Henan, Shandong and Sichuan provinces and the cities of Hangzhou (in East China's Zhejiang Province) and Fuyang (in East China's Anhui Province) cooperated with local financial institutions to meet the needs of women entrepreneurs for funds during epidemic prevention and control.

The financial institutions have provided microcredit funds for women and support female entrepreneurs with financial difficulties to solve cash flow problems in resuming production and work.

Organizing Online Skill Training

Since the outbreak of COVID-19, women's federations at all levels made full use of the Internet and extensively mobilized women to learn skills online at home to prepare for the resumption of work and production.

The All-China Women's Federation launched more than 400 online courses covering the fields of planting, breeding, crafts making and health care.

In addition, the women's federations of Beijing and Chongqing municipalities and Gansu and Heilongjiang provinces have opened online training on entrepreneurship, housekeeping and e-commerce marketing skills based on local needs.

Offering Job Opportunities

Women's federations at all levels in Central China's Hunan Province have made active efforts to assist enterprises to resume work and production and help local women return to their posts or work at home. The Women's Federation of the Xiangxi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture in the province has organized women to engage in hand knitting at home based on the 51 women's employment and poverty alleviation workshops throughout the prefecture.

The women's federations of some cities across the country have teamed up with local human resources and social security bureaus to organize online recruitment, helping enterprises resume work and production and offering job opportunities to local women.
