Huang Xiaowei, Vice-President and First Member of the Secretariat of the All-China Women's Federation (ACWF), sent a congratulatory message via video in late June to the ACWF Hong Kong Delegates Association to mark both the 24th anniversary of the establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) and the inaugural ceremony of the association's seventh board.

Huang extended sincere greetings and best wishes to the association and to women from all walks of life in HKSAR. She also congratulated the association's board members for assuming their posts.

Huang highly praised the ACWF Hong Kong Delegates Association for its contributions to maintaining the stable and long-term implementation of the "One Country, Two Systems" principle and to advancing women's exchanges and cooperation. The association firmly supports the National People's Congress' decision to enact a national security law and improve the electoral system of HKSAR, showcasing the association's love for their country and their region, Huang added.

Both the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and the 24th anniversary of Hong Kong's return to China would be celebrated on July 1, Huang noted. Under the leadership of the CPC, Chinese have stood up, grown rich and become strong during the past 100 years, and as such they have experienced a great leap forward. Hong Kong has integrated into this historic progress by implementing the "One Country, Two Systems" principle.

Huang encouraged the ACWF Hong Kong Delegates Association to continue its honorable tradition of loving their country and loving their region and firmly supporting the HKSAR's government and its chief executive's governance in accordance with the law. The association should give full play to ACWF's executive committee members' role of acting as a "bridge," and unite women from all walks of life in Hong Kong to put into practice comprehensively the principle of "patriots governing Hong Kong" and support the improvement of HKSAR's electoral system. The association should also lead sisters in Hong Kong in participating in the overall development of the country, including the construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and in making continuous efforts in advancing the stable and long-term implementation of the "One Country, Two Systems" principle, as well as the fulfillment of the Chinese Dream of great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation, Huang added.

Maggie Chan, President of the ACWF Hong Kong Delegates Association, said the association should shoulders its mission of fulfilling the 14th Five-Year Plan, answer the call of "patriots governing Hong Kong" of the era and harness women's strength in HKSAR to make contributions to fulfilling the Chinese Dream of great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.

Approximately 400 participants, including Carrie Lam, Chief Executive of HKSAR, Qiu Hong, Deputy Director of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the Hong Kong SAR, Chen Maobo, Financial Secretary of HKSAR, Yang Yirui, Deputy Commissioner of the Office of the Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China in the Hong Kong SAR, representatives of deputies to the National People's Congress, members of the national committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, presidents of women's federations, women from all segments of society in Hong Kong and members of the ACWF Hong Kong Delegates Association, attended the event either offline or online.
