Shen stressed the importance of adhering to the people-centered development philosophy, and said that more efforts should be made to conduct in-depth research on policies, systems and measures that promote women and children's further development. Studies should be made of ways to continue to fulfill women and children's aspirations for a better life, and to identify new tasks and requirements in the areas of women's employment, education and healthcare as well as protection of women and children’s rights.
