Chinese Parents Stressed by Juggling Work, School Children Supervision: Survey

 April 7, 2020

BEIJING, April 4 (Xinhua) — Chinese parents polled in a recent survey said they found it difficult to juggle tasks from work and the responsibility of supervising their children's study during a period when students have been studying at home over COVID-19 concerns.

Of the 2,757 parents of primary and secondary school students interviewed in the survey, close to 73 percent expressed experiencing such stress, China Youth Daily reported.

To fulfill both roles, the parents said they would make plans for the next day, arrange schedules and strengthen their children's ability to study and do things independently.

Nevertheless, parents surveyed said having their children study home was rewarding as they had a chance to spend more time with their children, better understand their study, engage in constructive conversations and instruct them to use the Internet wisely.
