Tangshan Women's Federation and Tangshan Public Security Bureau recently provided training to help police officers and cadres (of women's federations, at all levels in Tangshan, a city in North China's Hebei Province), improve their ability to help women and children protect their rights and interests. The officers and cadres received training on how to implement the work mechanism, through which various organizations (including public security agencies, law enforcement agencies, education and civil affairs departments and women's federations, at all levels across Tangshan) work together to end domestic violence.

Organizers invited scholars (who study laws and legal regulations), to explain how the trainees could promote implementation of both the above-mentioned mechanism and China's Law Against Domestic Violence, which took effect on March 1, 2016. Organizers also invited police officers to share their experiences in handling cases involving domestic violence.

Many cadres of the federations said they would make greater efforts to raise women's awareness about the importance of combating domestic violence. That, in turn, would help strengthen public security, the cadres added.
