CWU Holds an Online Lecture on Metaverse

At the invitation of the School of Cultural Communication and Arts under the China Women's University (CWU), He Zhan, Omniverse Lead at NVIDIA China, gave an online lecture titled "Metaverse: New Innovative Driver for the Development of Creative and Media Industries" to CWU teachers and students on December 6, 2022.

Wang Lu, dean of the School of Cultural Communication and Arts, presided over the lecture.

With the explosion of users of virtual work and life scenes such as remote work and online entertainment, the Metaverse has become a popular topic and captured people's imagination for virtual reality (VR).

In his lecture, He spoke about the application of the Metaverse in computer graphics, robot self-awareness, spatial computing and digital twinning. He explained the disruptive changes brought by the Metaverse in creative and media industries, and gave examples of how the Metaverse has been applied to artistic creation, fashion design, digital humans and new-type urban landscape. He also introduced the changes that could be brought by the development of new-generation internet and artificial intelligence.

People from Tsinghua University, Donghua University, Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology and Chinese Society of Technology Economics, who work in related fields, also listened to the lecture.
