CWU Off-Campus Tutors Share Experience of Women's Protection

China Women's University & ACWF Executive Leadership Academy (CWU), held a ceremony of appointing Feng Yingxia, Secretary of the Leading Party Members' Group and President of the Women's Federation of Bao'an District in Shenzhen, as CWU's part-time professor and off-campus tutor for graduate students and appointing Yu Changxiu, Director of the Legal Department of Shenzhen Women's Federation, as off-campus tutor for graduate students on October 23, 2020.

On behalf of teachers and students, Li Mingshun, Secretary of the Party committee of the CWU, extended warm welcome to Feng and Yu. Li said that Shenzhen, the city which issued China's first local regulations on the promotion of gender equality, has played an exemplary role in the protection of women's rights and the promotion of gender equality.

Feng and Yu are outstanding representatives of women cadres who work on the front line of women's work, and will deliver lively lessons on ideological and political education and protection of women's rights to CWU students, Li added.

Liu Liqun, President of the CWU, noted that the appointment is an important measure to improve education quality, strengthen exchanges and enhance the school's influence. Noting that the CWU attaches great importance to social practice, Liu hoped that off-campus tutors who have rich work experience will help improve the school's teaching level and cultivate outstanding women talents in the new era.

CWU Off-Campus Tutors Share Experience of Women's Protection

Feng Yingxia, Secretary of the Leading Party Members' Group and President of the Women's Federation of Bao'an District in Shenzhen, speaks at the appointment ceremony. 

 

Feng expressed her gratitude for being appointed as a part-time professor and off-campus tutor. She outlined the district's women's federation's fruitful explorations into women's rights protection, and its experience of participating in social governance at primary level.

Feng also praised the research results that the CWU has achieved as a national women's research think tank and the role it has played in leading and guiding women's federations at the grassroots level. She hoped to hold more activities with the CWU and provide a social practice platform at grassroots level for its teachers and students.
