A total of 930 new students were enrolled at China Women's University (CWU) on September 20, 2020. Li Mingshun, Secretary of the Party Committee of the CWU, and Ren Cuiru, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Secretary of Committee for Discipline Inspection of the CWU, visited the students and their relatives at the registration site.

The CWU's leading group for epidemic containment had made preparations to ensure the smooth registration of freshmen. The group checked the registration site and planed the registration process in advance and put detailed epidemic prevention measures in place, in a bid to create a safe and warm environment for the new arrivals. Anti-epidemic packages containing masks, thermometers and disinfectant were presented to all the newcomers.

This year, the parents could not enter the campus because of the requirements of the epidemic prevention and control. The CWU set up a "green channel" for students from impoverished families. It distributed packages containing daily necessities to students in financial difficulties, and gave extra assistance and care to students with special conditions.

The CWU's student affairs department established a volunteers' team to welcome the new students.  The team was responsible for implementing epidemic containment measures, providing on-site services and guiding freshmen to complete the registration process.

To secure the safety of the campus, temperature detectors were set up at the school gate and the entrances of dormitories, and the information of people's entering and leaving buildings was fully collected. The school will implement a relatively closed-off style of management after the new students have finished their registration.

To welcome the newcomers, the CWU set up display boards for the introduction of the university and its departments. The large electronic screen played the school's publicity video and broadcast information about epidemic prevention and garbage sorting, which showed care for the new students.

The CWU provided a digital one-stop registration service as before, and quickly dealt with all kinds of registration procedures, greatly reducing waiting times and avoiding crowding as much as possible.

The new students could learn about the registration procedures in advance from the official Wechat account of the CWU.
