CWU Gender, Social Development School Holds 'Class of 2005' Homecoming Day

During the current homecoming month, the Gender and Social Development School of China Women's University (CWU) held a conversation for 2005 graduate students at its 3rd meeting room. Shao Juan, deputy secretary of the general Party branch, presided over the event.

President Zhu Dongwu and teachers from the Gender and Social Development School participated in the conversation. Attendees also included 30 alumni from different professions and provinces in China.

During the meeting, on behalf of all the teachers, Jiao Yang, director of the Postgraduate Department, welcomed the alumni in the form of a roll call. The alumni answered to their names, creating a warm and touching scene, and recalling their memory of campus life. Jiao introduced the achievements of the social work department in teaching, scientific research and management. Teaching representatives spoke at the meeting and expressed their delight to see the alumni once again.

Shen Jinhua, a teacher from Tongxin experimental school for Beijing workers' families; Wu Aiying, a teacher from the children's education research center of Beijing Normal University; Hu Jia, an officer from township government of Jiangxi Province; and Yu Xinrong, who has taught at CWU since graduation, delivered speeches. They shared their experience, growth, and achievements after graduation, thanked teachers for teaching them knowledge, skills, and professional ideas, and thanked the school for their cultivation.

Further alumni from the University of International Business and Economics, Beijing Lide social work office, Beiming software development company, and Zhejiang Red Cross introduced their own experiences after graduation, shared their happy memories of past times, and expressed their thanks and best wishes for the school.

In her summing up, Zhu said that she was glad to see students' changes and achievements in the last 10 years. She hoped that the alumni would make suggestions and jointly promote the development of CWU. She invited the alumni to come back often, and expressed her best wishes and expectations to them.

The teachers and students deepened their friendships in the three hour conversation. After the meeting, the alumni visited the campus and library, and said they were amazed by its development. They also contributed to the beautiful scenery of the campus as they wore uniform red dresses.
