CWU Holds Launch Ceremony of Military Training

China Women's University (CWU) opened the 2019 student military training at a training center in Changping District in Beijing on September 16.

Ren Cuiru, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the CWU, attended the launch ceremony. Zheng Lei, head of the armed forces department of the CWU, hosted the ceremony. Nearly 1,288 freshmen attended the ceremony.

Guo Chunhong, head and political commissar of the military training regiment, announced the list of all the members of the military training regiment, and Ren presented flag to the regiment at the ceremony.

Wen Jun, executive director of the military training center, gave a mobilization speech during the ceremony. Wen pointed out that this year marked the first year of the implementation of the Military Teaching Syllabus for Regular Institutions of Higher Education, which was amended and put into effect by the Ministry of Education and National Defense Mobilization Department.

The center would follow the instructions in implementing this training, Wen said, advising the trainees to respect to teachers and trainers, obey orders and instructions, observe disciplines, and be strict with themselves. He also mobilized the students to train hard and conquer hardships and to be positive to the training.

Ren highlighted the importance of military training in national defense education and ideological work. She urged the students to have a sense of patriotism, be brave to take up the missions for the youth, and follow the Party whole-heartedly. She also encouraged them to learn with an open mind, train earnestly, complete tasks with high quality, follow the disciplines and commands, and keep the sense of executing orders and proclaiming prohibitions firmly in mind .

Ren added that students should be dedicated to the training in celebration of the 70th anniversary of the foundation of the People's Republic of China and the CWU, and embrace their new life in the university.

Lin Ao, a student at the Media and Communication School, spoke as a representative during the ceremony. Lin said that all students were committed to the training and looked forward to a fulfilled campus life with a positive mindset.

Trainers from the center offered military demonstrations, which were applauded by the students.
