CWU Holds Flag-Raising Ceremony for New Term

On February 29, China Women's University Youth League Committee (CWUYLC) held a flag-raising ceremony to mark the start of the new term. To the sound of the national anthem, the Chinese flag was raised on the playground.

Han Yan, secretary of the CWUYLC, attended and delivered a speech. She reviewed the Youth League Committee's achievements and efforts in 2015, asked all the students to study the important speeches made by Secretary-General Xi Jinping. In particular, she asked those present to bear in mind the principle of "An educated gentleman cannot but be resolute and broad-minded, for he has taken up a heavy responsibility and a long course", a comment put forward by president Xi at the 12th Plenary Session of the All-China Youth Federation on July 24.

Han also hoped that students could firmly establish their sense of mission, and always keep this in mind. They should be brave in facing consequences, and enhance their sense of responsibility. They should be calm, constantly improve their self-cultivation and strive for China's revitalization, added Han.

Later, the president of the Student Union delivered a speech on behalf of all the students. Secretaries from different departments of the League General Branch, also students participated in the ceremony.
