CWU Teachers Attend Seminar on China 'Happy Marriage, Family' Report

On November 19, China Association of Marriage and Family Studies (CAMF) under the All-China Women's Federation (ACWF) and website Zhenai.com released the "Report on China's Happy Marriage and Family" in Beijing.

Peng Peiyun, Vice Chairperson of the Standing Committee of the Ninth National People's Congress and former President of the ACWF; Zhen Yan, former vice-president and member of the secretariat of the ACWF; Li Song, chairman of website Zhenai.com; and experts and scholars from all walks of life participated in the event, which was presided over by Jiang Yuee, vice-president and general secretary of CAMF.

CWU Teachers Attend Seminar on China 'Happy Marriage, Family' Report

Li Mingshun, chairperson of China Women's University (CWU) Council and vice-president of CAMF, delivered a speech and made several comments. Lin Jianjun, professor from School of Law in CWU and deputy secretary general of CAMF, also spoke at the meeting.

The survey sample was carried out in 10 cities throughout China. Primary materials and data were collected through interviews, field observations and questionnaires. The organizers investigated the conditions of China's marriage and family from the perspective of gender, age, length of marriage, children, educational background, occupation and level of income.

Their summary on the characteristics and features of China's happy marriages and families can help people to build a happy marriage and family life, and promote the construction of harmonious society, organizers said.
