CWU Holds 2015 Awards Ceremony for Faculty Members

China Women's University (CWU) held an awards ceremony for faculty members at the campus's library building recently. More than 470 staff participated in the event. 

Li Mingshun, the chairperson of the CWU Council, presided over the meeting. President Liu Liqun attended and delivered a speech. Vice-president Song Shengju, Liu Meng, and Wang Jingxia presented prizes for outstanding teachers.

At the conference, 102 outstanding teachers and educators, as well as 29 teachers who have been in higher education for at least 30 years were commended.

Liu and Song read out the "Recognition Decision on 2013-2015 Outstanding Teachers and Educators" and the "Decision on Prize-giving to Senior Teachers of 30 Years' Standing" respectively. On behalf of all the faculty and students, school leaders presented certificates of honor to the commended teachers and offered flowers to the seniors.

Si Ru, professor at the Institute of Public Administration, delivered a speech. On behalf of outstanding teachers, she shared her own decade-long experience in CWU, expressed her decision to be a teacher with "strong faith, moral sentiment, solid knowledge and kindness", and hoped to make due contributions to CWU's talent cultivation. 

Senior representatives and Sun Xiaomei, professor at the Institute of Gender and Social Development expressed their heartfelt thanks for holding such a meeting. They recalled the school's arduous road of development and reform, and expressed their gratitude for CWU's leadership and development for more than 30 years. Sun also said that she loves the CWU and is willing to continue to work there until retirement.

On the occasion of Teacher's Day, Liu sincerely thanked all the staff who have stuck to their posts during the summer vacation. She reported on the main work done in the first half of the year, notified attendees on the work situation during the summer vacation, and outlined the key work that will be carried out in the next half year.

Liu said, "in order to start the eighth fully engaging system at CWU, we should comprehensively deepen reform." In regards to several questions raised by the CWU Party Committee on future development, she added that she required teachers to be fully aware of the development situation, and promote CWU's spirit and tradition. 

Speaking about the new semester, Liu said, "we should further enhance the situation awareness and consciousness of our responsibilities." In order to promote construction and stimulate vitality, she hoped that all staff could work together to overcome difficulties, pay special attention to each duty, and strive to establish CWU as the first-class women's university in China.

Li affirmed Liu's opinions, and added that all departments should further study and clarify the requirements for the next steps. In the case of CWU's serious running shortage, Li again emphasized the importance of overall situation consciousness. He said, "we should always have an awareness of security, work together to overcome difficulties, and perfect the specific work on personal safety, property safety, traffic safety, and office security."

At the conference, Li Xiaoming, minister of the CWU Organization Ministry, notified attendees on the assessment working arrangement on the 7th mid-ranking cadres. In accordance with the spirit of relevant state documents, the personnel department director Ren Cuiru detailed the relevant policies on basic wages, endowment insurance, and occupational pensions in institutional organizations.
