Mao Yanping, president of a village's women's federation in Southwest China's Guizhou Province, has tried new methods of publicizing the prevention and control efforts of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), in a bid to enable local people to understand the virus, dispel their fears, and take measures of epidemic prevention.

As a grassroots official in Wengbei Village, since the outbreak of the epidemic which originated in Wuhan City, Central China's Hubei Province, Mao has been making short videos on COVID-19 information and sharing them through social video-sharing platforms. With interesting form and diverse content, she has acquired more than 170,000 followers.

In plain and simple language, Mao's videos help people learn about the importance of staying at home, strengthening personal protection, and uniting efforts to win the epidemic prevention battle.

In addition, she explains the preventive measures and helps people understand how to effectively prevent the spread of the virus, treat the epidemic scientifically and rationally, and raise their awareness of self-prevention.

Mao said she hopes to set an example for others and warm people's hearts in the epidemic prevention and control efforts.
