The Publicity Department of the Communist Youth League of China held a ceremony to award the outstanding young actors and actresses at CCTV's May 4 gala on April 30. Guan Xiaotong and another nine artists were honored the title.
Guan appreciated the affirmation of her accomplishments and stated that she still has much room for improvement. Guan encouraged her peer college students saying: "We must continue to learn and improve ourselves at university, facing life with an active and optimistic attitude."
In the past year, Guan has actively participated in activities to spread positive energy, such as serving as an advocate for the World Health Organization (WHO) China Tobacco Control, and special envoy of WHO China Health. She has also participated in many charity events.
She even donated 200,000 yuan on her 20th birthday for the construction of a music classroom for children with cerebral palsy, setting an example to use influence and fame positively.
In addition, Guan was awarded with the Best Supporting Actress at The Magnolia Awards, one of the most influential awards in China for the industry of TV program, for her performance in the television drama To Be A Better Man, and attended the ideological and political demonstrations class on behalf of Beijing Film Academy.
