President Xi Jinping extended sincere solicitude to women fighting COVID-19 at frontline and in other fields on March 8, the International Women's Day. Xi, general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission, also expressed holiday greetings to women of all ethnic groups and from all walks of life in the country. Xi spoke highly of the important contributions made by women in fighting against COVID-19 and encouraged them to make continuous efforts in fighting the epidemic.
The All-China Women's Federation (ACWF) on the same day called on women from all sectors of society to be united under the leadership of the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at the core, consolidate their faith in winning the battle against COVID-19, and keep high morale in fighting against the epidemic, and make their own contributions to the victory of the people's war against the epidemic.
The ACWF stressed that women from across the country should keep firmly in mind the important instructions made by President Xi, continue with their epidemic prevention and control efforts, and give full play to their unique roles in both fighting against COVID-19 and achieving the goals of the economic and social development.
