ACWF's Group Members Contribute to Anti-Epidemic Battle

2020-02-06

Group members of the All-China Women's Federation (ACWF) have shown great concern to the latest development of the novel coronavirus epidemic, fulfilled their social responsibilities, and given full play to women in assisting the nationwide battle against the virus in response to a proposal issued by the ACWF on January 26.

The ACWF urged women from all walks of life to give full play to their unique roles in social and family life, and contribute to the prevention and control of the novel coronavirus.

Both the ACWF and the China Medical Women's Association have sent letters to frontline female medical workers to convey respect, greetings and gratitude for their selfless sacrifices since the outbreak of the coronavirus epidemic in Wuhan, the capital city of Central China's Hubei Province.

The China Association of Women Entrepreneurs has urged its members, especially those from Wuhan and surrounding areas, to support the preventative measures taken by local governments, act on official recommendations on the prevention and control of the novel coronavirus, and assume their social responsibilities.

The associations of women entrepreneurs in Fujian Province and the cities of Beijing, Qingdao and Yinchuan have organized fundraising events for the Red Cross agencies and medical workers.

Meanwhile, the China Female Artists Association has made an appeal to its members to use their painting brushes to depict heroic images of medical workers, military personnel, scientists, community workers, and news reporters on the frontline.

Other group members of the ACWF, such as the China Association of Women Photographers, the Women City Planners' Committee of the China Association of City Planning and the National Committee of the China Young Women's Christian Association have also taken action to assist the work of the novel coronavirus prevention and control.

Moreover, the Guangzhou Young Women's Christian Association has collected 100,000 yuan (US $14,262.5) in donations to the Guangzhou Charity Association for supporting the fight against the coronavirus epidemic.
