Huang told CGTN that there are still biases and barriers to be broken. According to a report released by UN Women last December, the achievements of global women's development are at risk of being lost, and the challenges are more severe and complex. She pointed out several challenges, such as weakened economic growth, geopolitical conflict, the digital gender divide and entrenched mindsets.
China has been addressing these challenges and advancing women's development through peace, economic empowerment and global partnerships. With vivid examples, Huang explained how China engages in South-South cooperation to bring solid benefits to women in a number of developing countries, helping them to improve health, education and economic situations.
Huang shared an inspiring message to young women, noting they are both beneficiaries and drivers of gender equality. She encouraged them to achieve equality through hard work, defend equality with courage, forge inclusive dialogues and advance equality through action.
