A women and children's rights-protection-service center was established recently in the high-speed railway station in Neijiang, a city in Southwest China's Sichuan Province.
The center actually upgrades the rights-protection hotline, 12338, to a one-stop rights-protection platform. The center is located in the central area of the railway station, which is convenient for both passengers and local residents.
The center will establish a joint-emergency-response mechanism with the police station and service counter in the train station, and with the women's federation of traffic and transportation industries. When emergencies occur, lawyers and police officers will provide timely support.
The platform is also an alliance of women's federations, government departments and social organizations. It facilitates the collaboration of Neijiang's procuratorate, court and the bureaus of justice, public security and civil affairs when they deal with cases involving women and children.
The alliance has established a five-level-response mechanism, which ensures each case is classified and solved by a department or organization in a proper and timely way.
The center also has a team, composed of more than 200 lawyers, volunteers and community workers. The team provides services related to family affairs in all seven county-level areas of Neijiang.
