Chando Spring Bud Education Assistance Action Supports Girls in Xizang

A scholarship distribution ceremony for the Chando Spring Bud Education Assistance Action was jointly held by the China Children and Teenagers' Fund (CCTF) and Shanghai Chando Group at Xizang Agricultural and Animal Husbandry University in Nyingchi, a city in Southwest China's Xizang Autonomous Region, on June 26.

The ceremony drew the attendance of Zhu Dongyun, Deputy Secretary-General of the CCTF, Pan Ming, Vice-President of Xizang Women's Federation, Yan Jiangying, President of the China Association of Fragrance Flavor and Cosmetic Industries, Chen Juanling, manager of Public Affairs Department of Shanghai Chando Group, Shen Quan, senior caption of Polar Research Institute of China under the Ministry of Natural Resources and head of China's Great Wall Station in the Antarctica, and more than 120 teachers and students from the university. Zhong Airong, Vice-President οf Nyingchi Women's Federation presided οver the ceremony.

The CCTF and Shanghai Chando Group donated two million yuan (US $278,858) to Xizang Women's Federation to help 350 girl high school and college students continue with their education.

 

"Since its establishment in May 2023, the Chando Spring Bud Education Assistance Action has supported 510 girl high school and college students from families in difficulty across Xizang and organized the Spring Bud girls to attend social practice activities in Shanghai to help them expand their horizons and acquire more knowledge," said Zhu. She hoped beneficiary students will follow the spirit of the Spring Bud Project, remain gratitude to those who have helped them, live life to the fullest and strive for a bright future.

Pan said that the action has become an important driver to help girls from families in difficulty in Xizang continue with education. She called on them to be firm in their ideals and convictions, study hard and endeavor to realize personal dream in the pursuit οf national rejuvenation.

Yan urged students to foster virtue and fine conducts and integrate personal dream with national development and the great rejuvenation οf the Chinese nation.

Chen encouraged students to moving forward steadily, keep making progress and become an important force in driving social development. 

Representatives οf beneficiary students shared with attendees about their growth stories and hopes for the future. "After college graduation, I will return to my hometown to become a teacher, and pass οn the warmth and hope to more students," said Puchi. Another student said that she will study hard, proactively take part in volunteer activities, reward the society with concrete actions, promote hometown's development, and help more girls realize their dream.

 

Shen gave a science popularization lecture titled New Era and New Journey: Building China into a Powerhouse in Polar Research at the ceremony. The students were deeply motivated by the patriotism and unyielding spirit of scientists, adding that they will study harder and strive to be a talent for polar research and national development.

The attendees also visited Spring Bud girls and encouraged them to keep positive, overcome difficulties and forge ahead with determination. Shen also held a science popularization class for students at Nyingchi No. 1 High School.

Since 2023, the Chando Spring Bud Education Assistance Action has donated 5.6 million yuan (US $780,802) to Xizang Women's Federation, supported 860 girls, organized career planning lectures, sci-tech literacy training and social practice activities for the girls, ensured their access to equitable, inclusive and high-quality education, and helped them grow up in an all-round manner, pooling the strength of women for the high-quality economic and social development and nurturing more women talents of ethnic minorities in the autonomous region.
