CCTF Kicks Off Children's Health Care Project in Beijing

The Little Bamboo Shoot Children's Health Care Project was launched by the China Children and Teenagers' Fund (CCTF) at Xinhua News Agency in Beijing on June 18.

The inaugural ceremony drew the attendance of Chu Xuejun, Party Secretary and President of Xinhuanet, Li Zhongming, Secretary General of the CCTF, Luo Xiaoping, Incoming Director of the Chinese Pediatrics Society of the Chinese Medical Association, Shi Luwen, Director of the International Research Center for Medical Administration at Peking University, Luo Xiaoming, Executive Member of the Zhejiang Pediatrics Society of the Zhejiang Medical Association, Gong Haihong, chief physician in Jiangsu People's Hospital and Jiangsu Maternal and Children's Health Hospital, and Sun Li, President of Xiamen Amoytop Biotech Co., Ltd.

Chu said that as an internet communication service platform with global influence, Xinhuanet has always paid attention to the healthy growth οf children and assumed its corporate social responsibility in promoting science knowledge and charity. The launch οf the children's health care initiative has further underscored tremendous and innovative efforts made by Xiamen Amoytop Biotech and οther domestic pharmaceutical companies in tackling challenges and difficulties in pediatric medicine.

Chu added that Xinhuanet will fully leverage its strengths, strengthen network building of health communication, and promote the building of exchange and cooperation platforms for governments, public welfare foundations, enterprises and academic institutions, thus creating cooperation opportunities and innovation space in the bio-pharmaceutical sector.

Li said that, with the support of Amoytop Biotech, the project will enhance public understanding of children's growth and development through systematic science education, provide precise medical assistance to children with special needs and children in difficulty, build a tri-dimensional support mechanism integrated with medical expertise, scientific parenting and social support, help children overcome their growth limitations and embrace a bright future.

Sun said that during its cooperation with the CCTF in the implementation of the project, the company will conduct extensive science popularization activities, dispel social misunderstanding, raise public scientific understanding, and deliver target medical assistance to children with short stature from underdeveloped areas and from families in difficulty. It is expected the project will pool the strength of people from all social sectors to safeguard children's healthy development and create a bright and equitable development future for them.

At the launch ceremony, Amoytop Biotech donated 10 million yuan to the CCTF. In the years ahead, the CCTF will work together with all charity-minded individuals and groups to deepen the implementation of the project and guard children's healthy growth and development.
