To mark the International Day of Families (May 15th), a "Most Beautiful" family tradition story-sharing event was held in Lhasa, capital of Southwest China's Xizang Autonomous Region, in mid-May 2025.
The event also marked the 60th founding anniversary of the Xizang Autonomous Region. More than 400 people, including officials from more than 10 relevant departments in Xizang, representatives from "Most Beautiful" families and women, from different ethnic groups and all walks of life, attended.
Eight storytellers, recommended by Lhasa Customs and/or seven prefecture- or city-level women's federations, in Xizang, shared their stories.
They, in simple language, and with genuine emotion, demonstrated the spirits of families in Xizang, and those families were characterized by love for the country, family and one another, devotion to progress and kindness, joint contribution and mutual sharing.
Participants noted the event inspired them to be firm in their ideals, pass on positive family values, and contribute to the building of a beautiful, socialist new Xizang.
An official with Xizang Women's Federation stated the federation will promote family civility and virtues, and it will unite and mobilize families in the region to help advance ethnic unity and progress.
