A public lecture, on the theme "inspiring women to make scientific innovations, promoting the development of new quality productive forces in the space industry," was held at China Space Museum, in Beijing, on May 26.
Beijing Women's Federation and Beijing Academy of Science and Technology hosted the event.
Participants included women academicians, experts and scholars, and representatives of enterprises in the space industry. They heard speeches about and discussed the development trends, research results and applications of space technologies, science popularization and other relevant topics.
Some students, from Beijing's Fengtai District, staged a play, which explained the mutation of plants grown in space.
Beijing Women's Association for Science and Technology was the event's co-organizer. Since its establishment, in 2021, the association has promoted both sci-tech innovations and the popularization of science.
It recently selected China Space Museum as its 10th women's science-popularization service base. The bases, combined, have held activities that have helped enhance the public's science literacy among more than 10 million people.
