Project Launched to Care for Women's Sleep Health

 2024-09-05

With the support of the Chinese Medical Doctor Association's Sleep Research Committee and the Ruijin Hospital of Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine, the China Women's Development Foundation (CWDF) and Suzhou Women's Federation jointly unveiled a public welfare project featuring women's sleep health at Suzhou Women and Children Activity Center in Suzhou, a city of East China's Jiangsu Province, on August 30.

The inaugural ceremony was attended by Li Qingyun, head of the project's expert team and director of the Ruijin Hospital's respiratory department, and Sui Wenjing, Olympic gold medalist in figure skating, a National March 8th Red-Banner Holder and the project's promotional ambassador.

The project was aimed at helping the public pay more attention to women's sleep health, promoting the popularization of relevant sleep health knowledge and improving sleep health. It will make full use of digital publicity and new media resources in the organization of science popularization and free medical screening focused on women's sleep health.

Li said that the expert team will conduct relevant research on women's sleep health to provide a solid scientific foundation for popular science education, raise public awareness of sleep health, increase early diagnosis and treatment rates, and help more women solve the problems caused by sleep disorder.

Sui said that, for athletes, having sound sleep is the foundation of maintaining competitive conditions. She said she looks forwards to taking part in relevant activities and working with public welfare organizations as well as medical institutions to help women cope with sleep-related problems and embrace healthy life.
