NINGBO, China, Sept. 14 (Xinhua) — Sixteen-year-old Peng Xinlu stunned the shooting world on Sunday by breaking both the world and junior records to win the women's 10m air rifle title at the ISSF World Cup in Ningbo.
Peng fired 255.3 points in the final, surpassing the previous world mark of 254.8 set by compatriot Wang Zifei at the Lima World Cup in April.
It was the teenager's second medal in Ningbo, her first World Cup appearance. Earlier in the week, she paired with Olympic champion Sheng Lihao to win silver in the mixed team event after setting a new qualification world record of 636.9.
"I'll try to improve in the future, hoping to get even better results," Peng said after her victory, also thanking the home crowd for their support.

Norway's Jeanette Hegg Duestad took silver with 252.6, while India's Meghana Sajjanar claimed bronze on 230.0.
Duestad, who had earlier beaten Peng and Sheng to win mixed team gold with Jon-Hermann Hegg, praised the young Chinese prodigy. "It was a great final and she was shooting amazing. I was behind her in qualification and had no chance (in the final). She was really, really good," the 26-year-old said.
The Norwegian left Ningbo with three medals, including victory in the women's 50m rifle three positions. "It was way beyond my expectations," Duestad admitted. "I had a really good weekend here in Ningbo. It's great to end this World Cup season like this."
In the men's 50m rifle three positions final, Jiri Privratsky of the Czech Republic won gold with 465.3, edging Dmitrii Pimenov on 464.3. Norway's Hegg secured bronze with 450.6.
The Ningbo World Cup concluded Sunday with China topping the medal table on three golds, four silvers and one bronze. Norway finished second on 2-1-1, while South Korea ranked third with 1-1-2.
