HEFEI, April 21 (Xinhua) — An agricultural technology park in Feidong County, east China's Anhui Province has been cultivating vegetables and other plants aeroponically.
When seedlings are transplanted to a soilless, aeroponic growing apparatus, mist-spraying devices will routinely spray atomized nutrient solutions to their dangling roots and lower stems. In doing so, the aeroponic system can provide nutrients according to the plants' needs during their entire growth cycle, thus reducing land use and labor costs. The whole system is supported by the Internet of Things (IoT) technology, which will allow staff members to monitor and adjust crop growth conditions.
