Shaanxi Women Increase Income with Traditional Embroidery

Zhang Juying (1st R) and her students embroider in front of visitors at the Qiang Embroidery Expo held in Caochuanzi Village, Ningqiang County, northwest China's Shaanxi Province on October 18. The event aimed to advocate traditional embroidery of China's Qiang ethnic minority and help more women increase their incomes. To pass on the art to future generations, and market relative products, the county established cooperatives in three of its townships, providing guaranteed small loans for local female embroiders to expand the market.
