In accordance with the instructions of the All-China Women's Federation, Liu Liqun, President of the China Women's University (CWU), on September 24-25 made an tour in Ningbo City, East China's Zhejiang Province, to investigate the measures for the prevention of the sexual assault of the minors.

Gu Weiwei, Secretary of the Leading Party Members' Group and President of the Ningbo Women's Federation, and Zhang Yue and Tan Zaiqiong, vice-presidents of the Ningbo Women's Federation, participated in the investigation.

Liu visited the minors' protection station in Yinzhou District on September 25, to learn about the situation of the "one-stop" protection work for the minors.

Initiated by the People's Procuratorate of Yinzhou District, the station is the first case-handling site for juvenile victims in China that combines the forces of the hospital and the procuratorates and public security organs.

Liu also visited the office of the working group on the prevention of sexual assault of the minors in Haishu District, to learn more about the operation mechanism, work processes, case handling and participation of social organizations and volunteers.

Under the guidance of the Ningbo Women's Federation, Haishu has established a cooperation mechanism of preventing the sexual assault of the minors and protecting children's rights and interests at the district level.

Liu had two symposiums with women volunteers and representatives of the women's federations, public security organs, the procuratorates, the courts, hospitals, the education and civil affairs departments, women's social organizations and legal service teams.

At the symposium, they discussed the protection of the minors and prevention of sexual assault in Ningbo.

Gu welcomed Liu's visit, and she pointed out that the women's federations at all levels in Ningbo have given full to the role of staff members and executive committees' members of the women's federations, women's social organizations and parents' schools to protect rights and interests of women and children.

Liu noted that the women's federations and related departments in Ningbo have actively carried out the work of preventing the sexual assault of the minors and safeguarding the personal rights and interests of girls, which are worthy of recognition and promotion.

Liu hoped to strengthen cooperation and exchanges with Ningbo on the prevention of sexual assault against the minors and the improvement of women officials' rights protection services, to further protect the legitimate rights and interests of women and children and improve social governance capabilities.
