At the invitation of Svetlana Orlova, Governor of Vladimir Oblast and the Russian side's President of the Women's Council of the CRFPDC (China-Russia Friendship, Peace and Development Committee), a women's delegation, headed by Lu Yamin, Deputy Director-General of the International Liaison Department of the All-China Women's Federation (ACWF), visited Russia from May 26-30, 2016. The delegation was composed of Chinese women entrepreneurs and representatives from women's federations.
The delegation attended the Fourth Vladimir Regional Economic Forum, which had the theme "Small and Medium Enterprises — Time to Become Leaders." Approximately 600 people — including officials and representatives of businesses and nongovernmental organizations from the more than 20 members of the Russian Federation, as well as from China, Belarus, Moldova, Slovakia and Slovenia — attended.
Orlova read a message from Russian President Vladimir Putin. Lu delivered a speech during the forum's opening ceremony. She outlined women's roles in advancing the development of small and medium-sized enterprises in China. She also mentioned ACWF's efforts to improve women's employment and entrepreneurship. She said she hoped cooperation between Chinese and Russian women entrepreneurs would be enhanced.
The delegates visited an exhibition about leading enterprises in Vladimir Oblast, and they participated in business talks with Russian entrepreneurs.
