Educational Event on the Dangers of Drug Addiction Held at Town-level Secondary School in Guangxi

An educational event was held at the Tanpai Secondary School of Baiwei Township in Shanglin County, southwest China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, on June 29 to help local students and their teachers further increase their awareness of the dangers of drug addiction and ignite their enthusiasm towards social and economic growth.

The event was launched by Huang Zhenyi, an official from the Guangxi Women's Federation stationed there to help local villagers develop their social and economic affairs.

During the gathering, staff members from local narcotics control commission, the departments of public security, justice and court, and the women's federation in Shanglin spoke with attendees about the dangers of illicit use of drugs, distributed publications in relation to the threats of drug addiction and HIV and the protection of their legal rights as well as interests, and called on them to better observe legal regulations under current social circumstances.

For their part, attending students said that they had learned more about the dangers of drug addiction and would help their family members be aware of these dangers in their daily life.
