China Women's News and China Women's Development Foundation (CWDF) announced the establishment of a maternal and child health club and fund at a press conference in Beijing on August 28.

The China Maternal and Child Health Club is a response to the government and the Communist Party of China’s urging to apply "Internet Plus" to the maternal and child health field. "Internet Plus" is a government strategy meant to better utilize industrial and information technology.

China Women's News will rely on the club to attract social resources from home and abroad to improve maternal and child health. It will collect, sort and analyze relevant data to provide precise aid for the development and improvement of China's maternal and child health services.

Additionally, the Special Fund for Maternal and Child Health, a joint program launched by the two organizations, aims to raise funds and sponsor further development of maternal and child health services.

At press time, the fund accepted a donation of 1 million yuan (U.S. $157,000) for its charity campaign to help disadvantaged women with diabetic feet.
