The romance film "Thousand Years Love" is scheduled to be released in mainland cinemas on August 22, 163.com reports. The production company has released the film's first character poster, featuring lead actress Zhang Xuan in a realistic yet retro style.
A new face in the entertainment circle, Zhang plays three different roles in the movie during the Yuan Dynasty, Qing Dynasty and Republic of China era.
The theme of the film—love—is connected to the traditional Yunjin brocades of the Yuan Dynasty, which became popular during the Ming and Qing dynasties. The brocades were included on the UNESCO World Intangible Cultural Heritage List in 2009.
The film is directed by Zhang Yu and stars Yang Shuo, Lv Zhong and Sa Rina.
