The 10th National Women's Congress was held in Beijing on October 28 to 31, 2008. 

 

The 10th National Women's Congress was convened in Beijing on October 28-31, 2008, with 1,280 deputies attending the event. Huang Qingyi, ACWF Vice-President, presented a report titled "Raise the Great Banner of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics, Unite and Inspire Women from All Walks of Life Nationwide to Contribute to the Further Success of the Building of a Well-off Society," which called on women's federations to adhere to and thoroughly implement the Scientific Outlook on Development, fulfill their responsibilities to participate in social management and public services, promote women's development and contribute to social harmony. The congress amended the ACWF Constitution by incorporating into its statements "uniting and guiding women to play active roles in building a well-off society in all respects, and pushing forward socialist construction in economy, politics, culture, society and ecology," and "participating in social management and public services."

Chen Muhua and Peng Peiyun were elected Honorary Presidents, Chen Zhili was elected President, and Huang Qingyi was elected First Member of the Secretariat of the ACWF.
