Supporting Women As They Play Greater Roles in Scientific, Technological Innovation

The All-China Women's Federation (ACWF) recently hosted a symposium, during which leaders of China Aerospace Science and Industry Co., Ltd., China National Offshore Oil Corporation and China Huaneng Group Co., Ltd., and various Central Government-owned enterprises, shared their experiences in conducting activities to support their women employees in playing greater roles in scientific and technological innovation. The event, held in China State Construction Engineering Corporation Ltd. (in Beijing), was intended to strengthen the country's self-reliance and self-improvement in science and technology.

Du Rui, Member of the Secretariat of ACWF, affirmed the enterprises' achievements in promoting Women's Action for Scientific and Technological Innovation. To motivate women scientific and technological workers to play greater roles in promoting scientific and technological innovation, and in building China into a powerhouse in science and technology, the ACWF, the Ministry of Science and Technology, the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council, the All-China Federation of Trade Unions, the China Association for Science and Technology, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and the Chinese Academy of Engineering initiated the action, in Beijing, in April 2021.

Du stressed the organizations should make greater efforts to help women scientific and technological workers promote their career development. She also encouraged the workers to make greater contributions to the promotion of the nation's scientific and technological development.
