A parent-child reading activity, with the theme Reading Nurtures Family Values, Growing Together Through Reading, was held in Aksu Prefecture Cultural Center, in Northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, on April 9, 2025. The activity was hosted by Xinjiang Women's Federation and Xinjiang People's Publishing House. It was organized by Aksu Prefecture Women's Federation.
The event was attended by more than 400 participants, including officials from relevant organizations in Aksu Prefecture and book-loving family members.
During the event, some book-loving family members received reading gift packages, and they shared their reading experiences and insights. Scholars gave lectures on family education and mental health.
An official with Xinjiang Women's Federation stated the federation's future efforts will center on building parent-child reading brands, to guide families in reading revolutionary classics and stories, and fostering patriotism. Efforts will be made to expand reading-guidance services, with the aim of encouraging parent-child reading in more households.
