Footprints on Road to Serve Residents

 June 18, 2021

To help residents solve difficulties in their lives, Wang Lanhua and six local women established Wang Lanhua Volunteers' Group in 2005, shortly after Wang retired from Yuxi (a community in Wuzhong)'s neighborhood committee (she was director of the committee). In 2012, the group set up its Party branch.

During the past 15 years, Wang has led the group in providing various services (to residents), including helping and caring for poverty-stricken families, and helping residents resolve disputes. In addition, the group's members have helped promote the development of residents' welfare undertakings, as their way to repay society for the care and assistance they have received.

During the past decade, the group, with seven enterprises and social organizations, established 10 groups of volunteers (composed of more than 60,000 members), to provide services to residents, to help the residents solve difficulties in their lives.

Despite her advanced age, Wang faithfully serves the people. Given her outstanding achievements, she in recent years has received accolades and special titles, including being named a national moral model and a national advanced individual, who distinguished herself in promoting national unity and progress.
