Women of China, Japan Deepen Consensus via Virtual Communication

A virtual meeting was co-hosted by the Liaison Department of the All-China Women's Federation (ACWF) and Soka Gakkai of Japan on April 2, 2021.

Mu Hong, Director-General of the Liaison Department of the ACWF, Cong Zhongxiao, Secretary of the CPC (Communist Party of China) Committee of China National Children's Center, and Kou Huping, Deputy Executive Director of China National Museum of Women and Children, attended the meeting as representatives of China and delivered speeches.

Sugimoto Shinobu, Soka Gakkai's Woman's Division Senior Executive Leader, Numakura Chikayo, Chief Secretary of the Woman's Division, and Ota Junko, Deputy Leader of Soka Gakkai's Peace Commission, attended the meeting and spoke as representatives of Japan.

The theme of the virtual meeting was "shaking off the impacts caused by the COVID-19 (novel coronavirus disease) pandemic and opening a new chapter hand in hand." Participants reviewed friendly communications between the two sides and said they expected to have continuous exchanges and cooperation in the future.

Participants expressed their willingness to have a long-term vision on how to enhance mutual trust and make new contributions to building China-Japan relations that fit the needs of the new era.
