Xia Extends Greetings to US-China Sorority's Celebration on International Women's Day

Jinguo Committee, a renowned Chinese women's organization in Los Angeles, the United States, hosted a celebration on March 8, 2021, to mark International Women's Day. The theme was "Charms of Women" and the celebration was held via live streaming.

At the committee's invitation, Xia Jie, Vice-President and Member of the Secretariat of the All-China Women's Federation (ACWF), extended festive greetings to Chinese women living in the US during her speech.

Xia outlined Chinese women's development, in particular the significant roles played by women in epidemic containment and poverty reduction. Xia encouraged Chinese women in the US to make contributions to the construction of their motherland and the promotion of friendly people-to-people exchanges between China and the US.

Zhang Sujiu, founding president of Jinguo Committee, praised the great achievements made by Chinese women under the leadership of the Communist Party of China. She also spoke of ACWF's contributions to the progress of Chinese women's undertakings.

Mu Hong, Director-General of ACWF's Liaison Department, Chen Wei, wife of Consul-General of the Consulate General of the People's Republic of China in Los Angeles, US Congresswoman Judy Chu, and representatives from the local government and various segments of society of Los Angeles extended greetings.

During the event, members from ACWF's Liaison Department and Jinguo Committee sang a Chinese song together, "Come Home Frequently," to celebrate International Women's Day.
