The 2020 online Women's Economy Summit was co-hosted by the American Chamber of Commerce in China (AmCham China) and SCHSAsia from October 12-23, 2020. At the invitation of organizers, Mu Hong, Director-General of the Liaison Department of the All-China Women's Federation (ACWF), delivered a speech during the summit's opening ceremony. Mu outlined policies and measures implemented by the Communist Party of China and the Chinese Government to fulfill women's economic empowerment in poverty reduction, work resumption and employment, etc.
The year 2020 marks the 25th anniversary of the Fourth World Conference on Women and the fifth anniversary of the Global Leaders' Meeting on Gender Equality and Women's Empowerment. To mark the occasion, Mu called on participants to the 2020 Women's Economy Summit to make efforts together to put into practice the fruitful results reached during the Global Leaders' Meeting on Gender Equality and Women's Empowerment and to speed up for reaching the goals stated in the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action (adopted during the Fourth World Conference on Women).
More than 500 participants online attended the meeting.
