Xia Jie Meets ANC National Executive Committee Member

Xia Jie, Vice-President and Member of the Secretariat of the All-China Women's Federation (ACWF), met Sibongile Besani, Member of the National Executive Committee and Director of the Party President's Office of the African National Congress of South Africa (ANC), in Beijing on July 30, 2019. Besani headed a delegation to China at the invitation of the International Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC).

Xia spoke positively of the relations between China and South Africa and of the relations between CPC and ANC. She outlined the great achievements reached in the development of Chinese women's undertakings during the 70 years since the founding of the People's Republic of China. She also introduced ACWF's major work.

Xia said China will make efforts with South Africa to implement important consensus reached by the heads of the two countries, enhance exchanges and cooperation in women's affairs and open a new chapter in the Sino-South African friendship.

Besani praised China for its development and progress. He said South Africa will learn from China's good practices and will help deepen mutually beneficial cooperation to benefit the peoples of both countries.
