Xia Jie Meets Japanese Women's Delegation

Xia Jie, Vice-President and Member of the Secretariat of the All-China Women's Federation, met a delegation composed of members from the Japan National Federation of Regional Women's Organizations in Beijing on July 23, 2019. [Women of China]

 

Xia Jie, Vice-President and Member of the Secretariat of the All-China Women's Federation (ACWF), met a delegation composed of members from the Japan National Federation of Regional Women's Organizations in Beijing on July 23, 2019. The delegation visited China at the invitation of the ACWF.

Both Xia and the delegation spoke highly of the stable communications maintained by the two organizations over the years. The two sides made consensus on further enhancing friendly exchanges between Chinese and Japanese women, making joint efforts to advance the development of China-Japan relationship along the right track.

Xia explained the great importance attached by the Communist Party of China (CPC) and the Chinese Government to gender equality and women's development since the founding of the People's Republic of China 70 years ago, especially since the 18th CPC National Congress. She also outlined Chinese women's achievements in all segments of society.

Mu Hong, Director-General of ACWF's Liaison Department, attended a work-experience-sharing meeting with the delegation.

In Beijing, the delegates visited the National Museum of Women and Children, and watched a memorial exhibition in celebration of the 70th anniversary of the founding of the ACWF. The delegation also visited Tianjin where they learned about projects on women and children's development.
